Our ideas for at-home training during the Covid shut-down.
For about a year, starting in March, 2020, we regularly posted ideas on our Facebook page to entertain dogs and owners that found themselves at home 24/7, most likely for the first time in their lives.
We called it “All Dogs Alchemy – turning lead into gold” to make the most of a less-than-wonderful situation. We didn’t want to make lemonade. We wanted to make gold.
You can still find these recommendations below, but we have updated most of them to individual articles we call “Easy Activity” – simple, fun behaviors you can easily do at home to both entertain and train your dog. Many of them are useful ways to exercise your dog’s brain, which can be as tiring as exercising your dog’s body.

Close a Door
Today’s All Dogs Alchemy Activity du Jour is the next step of teaching your dog to close doors – starting with a cabinet door.
Once you’ve done Step 1 – nose targeting – shape moving closer to the goal door. Watch Wendy, our Director of Training, shape her dogs to this task.
